Nurse Executive
Job Details
The Nurse Executive is accountable for planning, developing and supervising the activities of personnel who provide health care and nursing services to the agency’s clients. This position assists with the development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, policies and procedures in accordance with Federal, State and Joint Commission standards and regulations. The Nursing Supervisor under the direction of the COO will have the responsibility for; selecting field staff, orientating and on boarding staff members, completing employee appraisals and resolving issues involving employee disciplinary action and client care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Registered nurse with current unencumbered licensure to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
- Minimum five years clinical experience with 2 to 3 years working in home health or related health care organization
- Minimum three to five years of direct employee supervision, including both exempt and non-exempt personnel
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct staff
- Strong recruiting, interviewing and hiring skills
- Possess exceptional nursing assessment skills
- Customer service experience and ability to deal tactfully with clients, staff and community
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must present a negative COVID-19 test
Requirements
- Make the initial evaluation visit and regularly re-evaluates the patient’s nursing needs
- Initiate the plan of care and make necessary revisions
- Provide back-up support for those services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skills
- Provide back-up support for appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures
- Prepare clinical and progress notes and summaries of care
- Inform the physician and other personnel of changes in the patient’s condition and needs
- Set-up new private duty cases
- Counsel the patient and family in meeting nursing and related needs
- Supervise and teach other nursing personnel
- Plan and implement in-service and training programs
- Oversee the maintenance of clinical records, statistics, reports and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organizational activities
- Assure proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state and federal laws (HIPAA/OSHA Compliance)
- Assure compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of organization personnel
- Stay informed about changes in the field of nursing and home health care, and share information with appropriate organization personnel
- Promote home health referrals in the health care community
- Coordination of (and onsite assistance as needed) for RN-Reg clinics
- National account clinical review
- Promote the agency philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
- Must have the ability to demonstrate solid judgment and discretion and a sense of understanding and urgency for priorities
